content warning: Infrequent strong language, conversation discusses eating disorders.
We welcome one of Australian Climbing's most well known Sport Dietitian's, Amanda Watts. She is a true power house of climbing, a business owner, and proud crag mama to her daughter Audrey. Over her 23 year climbing career, Amanda has represented Australia in World Cup sport climbing, had consistent podium placements at bouldering nationals, and has performed at an elite level across both sport and trad climbing competitions.
Amanda talks to us about how growing up in a diet culture, along with the pressure of elite climbing lead her to a cross roads in life. How easily she could have slipped into the pattern of eating disorders, and why nutrition became an anchor in her life.
She also shares practical tips for fuelling yourself as a busy mum. Amanda has a way of keeping advice simple and achievable, while shifting the focus to the essentials we need as active women.

#1: Nell Gow on redefining motherhood and creating Mum’s Gone Climbing
Sunday Jun 12, 2022
Sunday Jun 12, 2022
Nell Gow is a writer, film producer, and founder of the Mum's Gone Climbing community.
After her first baby was born with a rare genetic syndrome, motherhood became a series of specialist appointments, therapy sessions, and WTF moments.
Nell soon discovered the power motherhood has to shatter your sense of self, and become all consuming. Years (and many mental health breakdowns) later, Nell stuffed her feet back into her climbing shoes and began a journey back to her stoke. Little did she know it would be the start of an even bigger journey to empower a whole community of like minded, adventure loving, crag wandering, CLIMB MAMAS!
