#6: Joy Black on Pregnancy Loss and Challenging the Athlete Mindset
Joy Black is a trainer and coach, who specialises in working with climbers through pregnancy and postpartum. In this episode she joins our hosts, Eva and Nell, to talk about pregnancy loss. This is a topic close to her heart and something that affects so many people in our community.
Joy shares her own experiences of pregnancy loss, and the understanding she has gained navigating grief through life, training and climbing.
The conversation explores anxiety that can arise around climbing and training throughout pregnancy; and how we can use our emotional wellbeing to guide our decisions.
We also discuss how challenging the athlete mindset and tuning into what our body needs, can help us discover a new appreciation for climbing and movement.
